Helpers arrived at 3:20 p.m., unloading took three full hours (including the batch of things to be unloaded into a storage unit five miles up the road). The torrential downpour showed an uncharacteristic level of courtesy by waiting to begin until thirty seconds after we finished unloading. My nice, clean, uncluttered home now looks like this:

I now look like this:

I am now going to go take a shower and get some dinner. Then I have to put together my bed. I am making the rather optimistic assumption that the hardware required is actually attached to the bed pieces somewhere. Otherwise I'll be on the phone to my sweetie in the rather near future.

The cats, being very sensible creatures, are napping under the covers of Ben's bed, which is located in a nice, quiet, uncluttered room. I am considering joining them there.

Did I mention?

yay! I can see my stuff... there's my scuba tank, and my ironing board, and my fish tank, and my bike!

And my tired, tired man. I hope you recover quickly, and get the PS2 unpacked soon. Don't go overboard on the hard work. I'll have loads of time to get it done when I get there.

6 days.

Re: Did I mention?

Well, the problem is that Ben will be here tomorrow evening, and by then I have to have the place in enough order for him to be able to sit on the couch and watch tv. Right now that ain't happening. I took advantage of the large open floor space in the bedroom last night and put together all of the bookcases, both because I didn't figure I'd have open floor space again for a long time, and because there are a lot of boxes labeled books, videos, or CDs that can be tossed onto the bookshelves. I figure that should clear a lot of floor space right there.

I was pleased with how quickly your bed goes together - I think it took me all of about ten minutes, and most of that was unwrapping the peices. Both cats were overjoyed to see that bed.
