Well OK, he didn't eat the whole phone, but he chewed up the antenna enough to render the phone useless. I got a new phone yesterday, but although I am keeping the same number I am being moved to the newer GSM network. They said it could take up to 24 hours for my new phone to activate (and of course my old phone was de-activated immediately), and thus far it has been 22 hours. Needless to say, I still have no phone.

Grr.

You poor dear! First your PDA, then your digital camera, then your cel-phone. Perhaps Someone is trying to tell you to decrease your dependence upon technical toys? Or maybe you are getting your year's bad luck all at once. :D

Hope it gets better.

P.S. Which company do you use for your cel service?

The phone started working at about 3:30, making it 26 hours from when I bought it. I use AT&T Wireless, which I have generally been very happy with. As a matter of fact, they essentially paid me $1 to take this particular phone (I paid $99, with a $100 rebate). I definitely like the new phone quite a bit more than my old one.

As a special added bonus, the antenna is internal so Ben has nothing to chew on.

Re:

*grin* We have AT&T, too, and really like the service. We get stuff where others get "no service" at all.

You know, if you were a devious man, you could complain that it took over 24 hours and probably get a credit on your next bill. :D

Congrats on the internal antenna - wise choice!
