So the past few days I have been coding like crazy.  I am working on a new project that I should have started coding on last week, but I was wrapped up dealing with hot fixes from the giant release that happened.  I also had to finish wiring up the unit testing harness that I created, so now I can build my business objects completely in the abstract without having to write the UI until the very end, which is much nicer.  I can make the UI razer thin like it should be, which makes me very happy.

So anyway, I have literally written thousands of lines of code in the past few days to build this new piece I am working on, and it has been a real heads-down effort.  I took a break yesterday evening to run to the store, and then just a few minutes after I walked back in the door the phone rang.  It was the dev manager asking about my progress on something else, something that was on my radar as not being due for another two weeks.  He was expecting it by Sunday.  A lengthy conversation ensued.

During the conversation I wandered back into the office and sat down at my desk.  I went to look at the screen he was talking about, when I noticed a pile of shredded red fabric on my desk.  Yeah.  Remember that shirt I mentioned the other day?  Reduced to bird cage liner.

On the upside, I am now wearing a spiffy new shirt from the good people at ThinkGeek.com.  Thanks honey, I love you!

(Oh, and that deadline thing?  The project manager apologized for miscommunicating, and I pulled off delivering the code within the deadline.  Yeah.  I'm a rock star.)

Yup. I'd vouch for that. In the past year, i think i can count on one hand the times you've done something and it wasn't almost perfect from the start.
