Monday:
Monday morning I went to put Ben on the school bus, and the bus inexplicably failed to show up. We sat there for about fifteen minutes before I finally resigned myself to the fact that I would have to drive him to school. Which meant I would have to drive around for an hour waiting for it to be time to drop him off. I wound up not getting back home until almost 10am, as opposed to my normal time of 7:45. Grr.

That night was when my mom was flying in for a visit. Mom's plane was delayed leaving Seattle because of snow in Denver. Imagine that. Snow. In Denver. In January. Who woulda thunk it? So anyway, she ultimately arrived about two hours late. I pretty much brought her home and we both went to bed.

Tuesday:
A little after 6am as I was getting ready to leave to go put Ben on the bus, Sara called to warn me that Ben had been throwing up since two in the morning and niether one of them had gotten any sleep. She had a call in for a sub but hadn't heard back and was probably going to have to go in for at least the first period.

I arrived at their place around 7, and Ben promptly threw up on me. And again at 7:45. Sara went to work, but was back home by nine. At which point Ben threw up. I called the doctor to see if we should bring him in, and we were scheduled for an afternoon appointment. Ben finallyfell asleep, so I left both him and Sara to rest for a few hours while I went back home for a shower.

As it turns out, Ben slept for several hours and by afternoon he was looking and feeling much better, so we cancelled the doctor's appointment. Since I had already written off the day and called in sick to work, I decided to take my mom to the Animal Kingdom for a couple hours and then over to Epcot.

We had a great afternoon and evening. She love both places, and the only bad part was when she didn't see a step down while we were in the World Showcase and she took a fall. Fortunately she was not seriously damaged, although she had a pretty good limp for the rest of the night.

Wednesday:
Got up, went to put Ben on the bus, came home. The phone rang about an hour after I got home; Ben's teacher calling to inform me that the school district had a strict policy that any students who were out sick with anything that might be contagious had to be kept home for at least 24 hours after the last symptoms had cleared up. Argh.

Drove to Ben's school, picked him up (he was overjoyed that I was rescuing him from school), and brought him back to my place. He pretty much spent the day hanging out with grandma and watching videos. Happiest kid in the world.

That evening we met up with Sara at the Magic Kingdom for Ben's weekly trip to the park. I got my mom a wheelchair since she was still limping from the fall the night before. Ben immediately climbed up on her lap, and proceeded to spend the entire evening riding around there. We all had a very good time, and I don't think my mom could have been happier if she tried.

Thursday:
An actual normal, boring day. Ben went to school. I worked a regular day. Nobody threw up or fell down. Overall it was quite a nice day...
