The move is coming up in 4 1/2 weeks, and I'll be damned if I am not actually on track. My bedroom is rapidly emptying out into neatly packed and labeled boxes, all the stuff that I can live without for the next month. Tomorrow I will need to pick up more boxes as I finish up the bedroom and move on to the utility room. As I go along I am weeding out a bunch of trash that I have been saving like a pack rat for no good reason, sorting out books to take down to Half Price Books, sorting out old clothes to drop off at the Salvation Army, and setting aside some items to just plain give away to the first decent home that comes along. I've already found a home for my six boxes of comic books that have followed me around for two decades now.
Speaking of giving away stuff: I have a pair of Advent Baby II speakers in excellent condition that I no longer use. I took them out of my stereo setup when I got 4 matched speakers for the surround sound, and have no use for these things anymore. If anyone would like them, let me know and they are yours.

retcon had his interview today at my office, and by all accounts it went very well. I know he felt good about it, and after he had left one of the people who interviewed him came over to my desk and told me how impressed they were with him. In particular, of the five candidates they are interviewing for the position he is the only one who has Mac experience (and plenty of it). Currently all of the Mac support is outsourced to a third party, and it would be a real cost saver if Riff can take over the duties internally. Unfortunately since the position he interviewed is in a different department I really don't know how the other candidates did or which way Gary is leaning. Honestly I think he has an excellent shot at getting the position. Time will tell. There are two more people coming in for interviews this week, and they should make a decision next week.
