This weekend was a rare one spent largely without Ben. I spent Friday evening with him until about 8pm, and then I spent the rest of the evening just relaxing and enjoying some quite time. Saturday I slept in, and then once I was finally up and about I spent the afternoon washing and waxing my car and going for a drive with the sunroof open. I spent about four hours with Ben in the evening, mostly just hanging out by the swimming pool.

Today I spent a fantastic day with Kris, Riff, and tree. We headed north to Canada to spend the day in Vancouver. We managed to visit Death By Chocolate twice over the course of the day. I also found copies of Spalding Gray's "Swimming to Cambodia" and Lars von Trier's "The Kindom" on DVD, neither of which are available in the United States. We also took a trip up to the Capillano suspension bridge and had a very nice afternoon just walking around the property. Getting across the border coming home took a while, but went smoothly once it was our turn. A quick dinner at Cascade Pizza in Bellingham, and then we were on our way home. All in all an excellent day spent with my favorite people in the world that aren't related to me.

I had a wonderful time as well...

That was just a wonderful day.

I must get back up there again soon, after all I still have $1.67(Canadian) to use!

I loved the bridge. The hike around Capillano was just what my legs needed.

Death by Chocolate was absolutely yummy(looking). Great panini and gelato. Will definitely go there again.

Thank you so much for doing the driving, and for having the idea to go in the first place.

I went for another walk around the block last night looking for my cat, I thought I was missing both of them, but the other one was just hiding in my boxspring.

I went to bed at 1, and just after 2 I awakened to his cries outside my door. I opened the door, he bolted in, covered in leaves and ash/dirt. I spent the next 45 minutes bathing and drying him. I got back to bed holding him snug in a towel under a down comforter, he had uncontrollable shivers.

He seemed normal by the time I woke up again. He devoured his breakfast. I was worried about him all day yesterday, I'm glad he is back (mostly!)
