A quick note to our friends from the Great White North: keep your damn geese. When I first heard about the problem with Canada geese I thought it was overblown. I was wrong. For going on two years now I have worked on Harbor Island, and come the start of spring I get to experience the joy of goose shit everywhere. I am not exaggerating this; when walking from the car to the door of the building you have to keep your eyes on the ground to avoid stepping in the goose shit that is spread like enormous fecal bacon bits across the sidewalk. I am all for appreciating the beauty and grandeur of nature, but this is ridiculous.
In other news:
My mom had her colonoscopy this past week, and it went fairly well. They took a biopsy, but generally speaking there was nothing unexpected going on. She is now happily back to taking the cumadin instead of having to get the daily subcutaneous injections.
She also had a psych evaluation yesterday at the request of Social Security. They didn't really think she was crazy, but the evaluation was required as part of the process for her to receive SSI benefits. The upshot of the evaluation is that they agree that she really does have a medical condition and is not just making it all up.
As for me, I put my back out on Friday. I spent most of the weekend unable to even stand up, and I was still walking like Frankenstein's Monster yesterday. Today I only have a moderate limp, so that's a nice improvement anyway.
