We have tust taken off on the second leg of our flight, from Chicago to Orlando. Ben is sound asleep, which is good.
He has done really well so far. He was up too late last night, and had to be up a little earlier than usual this morning. I was bracing for a real disaster in flying cross country. As it turns out, I need not have worried.
He did really well going through security this morning. He listened and followed directions, at least as much as he could understand. We all had to be wanded, and he did very well staying seated in a chair while they did Sara. Also, the security people were very nice, and understanding of Ben's autism.
On the flight to Chicago Ben passed the time reading, watching movies, and listening to CD's. We let him get up to stretch his legs a couple of times, and he was very good about not bothering other passengers. He got a little fidgety in the last hour, but not enough to cause any problems.
Once we got on the ground we got him some fries during the layover. He had eaten well on the plane (fruit chews, nilla wafers, cinnamin graham crackers, juice), bur he is never one to turn down fries when they are offered. Now we are on the way to Orlando, and he is napping away.
Thus far, at least, a very successful vacation!
