Over the weekend I started getting sick. No cough, but my voice started to go and my chest felt heavy plus general body aches. Yay. I knew I had NyQuil in the medicine cabinet, but I also had Ben for the weekend so passing out in a drug-induced stupor was really not an option. I stopped by the store and picked up the non-drowsy daytime version, figuring I could switch to the NyQuil once Ben went home.

Last night he finally went home a little before 9pm and I headed for the medicine chest. When I opened the bottle I noticed a funny coloration around the cap and it didn't smell quite right. I looked for the expiration date on the bottle: 01/00. Apparently I have been carrying this particular bottle around for years. Now that I think of it, the last time I remember taking the NyQuil would have been in '98 (the summer I worked in Houston). Hm. So anyway, I wasn't feeling bold enough to take medicine that expired three years ago, so I took another dose of the DayQuil.

Future personal reference, taking non-drowsy medicine at bedtime is not necessarily a wse idea.

How are you feeling today?

I'm sorry you aren't feeling well. Are you still up for Chicago tonight? Or I could just come over with the Vicks Vaporub? Theraflu? Chicken soup?

I hope you are getting some rest today, it sounds like it didn't happen over the weekend.

In the immortal words of Arthur Dent, "I feel like a military academy. Bits of me keep passing out."

Not sure about tonight. I feel generally better now than I did when I woke up this morning. Could be that by dinner time I will feel fine. Best I can say is come on over after work and I'll make a judgement call then.

Do you like how my first post on your live journal is totally self-serving, "what a concerned girlfriend I am"

Do you think anyone out there is buying it?
