Actual phone conversation with my bank this morning, upon reporting that I had lost my ATM card over the weekend:
Me: Can you confirm that it hasn't been used? The last thing I used it for was at a Burger King yesterday late morning or early afternoon..
Bank Customer Service Person: Umm... let me see... was that in Atlantic City?
*beat*
Me: Noooo......
Bank Customer Service Person: Just kidding. You're fine, there haven't been any new transactions and that card has been canceled. Your new card is on the way.
What's that old saying? Oh yeah. Everybody's a fucking comedian.
