retcon came over to my place and we embarked upon a project of über-geekiness - we hacked my tivo. Over the course of three hours we replaced the factory hard drive with a new 120 gig drive without losing any of my recordings, we configured it to allow me to telnet in and get a bash prompt, we set up an ftp server, and installed a web interface that allows me to monitor and configure my tivo from anywhere I have access to a web browser and an internet connection. The whole process took about 3 1/2 hours, and was a roaring success. I know have a 127 hour tivo. Woo Hoo!
