I got another phone call from DirecTV at my work number this morning. The problems are that 1) I am not the person they are trying to reach, 2) They never leave the name of the person they are trying to reach, 3) I have no idea what number they are dialing, because although I apparently have an extension in the Fort Worth office I don't know what extension that is, and 4) Without knowing the name of the person on the account or the phone number for the account, DirecTV customer service has no way of pulling up the account to change it and stop calling me. So instead what happens is I get an email from work with the voice mail as an attachment. I have gotten dozens of these in the past two weeks, and it is slowly driving me insane. I have opened a support ticket at work to find out why I have an extension in Fort Worth if I don't have a phone that rings when that extension is called, and to find out what that extension is. I have gotten no response. I just sent another email to tech support reiterating the problem, and asking them to *please* at least tell me what extension is assigned to me and what the direct number is, so I can at least call DirecTV back and get them to stop calling that number. I know it's just emails that I can ignore and/or delete, but it is like being nibbled to death by ducks. I just want it to stop. Is that so wrong of me?
