We completed two more projects this weekend. The first was a minor one, and completely Kris' idea. She wanted more surface space in the laundry room for detergent and such, and we also needed a home for Ben's skates and safety gear. We wound up taking one of those simple small shelf units, and then attatching a large top cut to fit between the washer and dryer. It turned out pretty dang well. We will be painting the laundry room in the near future, which will be nice.

The second project was getting Kris' desk installed in the office. The monitor is wall mounted and swivels out of the way when not in use. By getting it up off the desktop it opens up an amazing amount of real estate. Right now the speakers are still sitting on the desk, but those will be wall mounted shortly. There is a surge protector / power strip mounted to the underside of the desk in the back so that all of the cables can be contained up and out of the way. There are two grommets on the desktop itself to allow cables to be run down to the computer, and another grommet on the side support to allow any cables to run outside of the desk area and over to the window area. All in all I am very pleased with how it turned out.

Next up: the 8' desktop on the opposite wall of the room.

There be pictures here, so if you are interested then take a look after the jump.
