Still in the hospital. Finally saw the doctor about two hours ago, and the doctor wants Ben to get a CT scan of his pancreas, as the results of the ultrasound were inconclusive. If the pancreas is inflamed, that would explain most of the symptoms. Ben has now been placed on an IV drip for fluids, and the soonest the CT scan could happen would be midnight. It will definitely be another night in the hospital, and hopefully tomorrow we will know more. The good news is that the blood tests show that he is not malnurished or anemic, and the ultrasound was at least conclusive enough to show that his liver, kidneys, and stomach all look fine. The most likely culprit right now is a viral infection in the pancreas, which the CT scan would confirm. I'm headed back to the hospital now, I'll post again probably in about ten hours.
