Wow, so I haven't posted in a while.  What's up with that?

Things that have happened in the past few weeks:

- Took a trip to Seattle for work in order to attend a training class.  Overall the trip was very successful and the class was good.

- While in Seattle, I got to hang out with my best friend [livejournal.com profile] retcon and he even showed me "The Christmas Invasion", the first new episode of Dr. Who with the tenth doctor David Tennant.  Don't tell my wife, she'll be insanely jealous.  (Yeah.  It was good.  Tennant was born to play the role.)

- Speaking of an insanely jealous wife, she was mad enough that I was going to Seattle without her.  It didn't help that I was staying at the Edgewater Inn, and got a very swanky room on the 4th floor facing the sound.  Nice hotel, I really wish she could have been there to enjoy it with me.

- Also while in Seattle I got to see my old friend [livejournal.com profile] solomoning, whom I had not seen in about four years.  He looks absolutely fantastic, and it was great to see him.  It sounds like things are going very well for him, and damn it he deserves it.

- Another Seattle adventure:  movie night.  Historically I have always brought some cult movie with me on my visits and showed them in the tech department after work one night.  I hadn't planned on doing it this trip, but Eli insisted.  Since he is a kiwi, I brought along Peter Jackson's brilliant "Braindead"  (aka "Dead Alive"), and it turned out to be a big hit.  Of course the only people there were Eli and Dawn, but that was OK.  I got to geek out with my boss for a few hours and we had a good time talking about Disney, management styles, obscure movies, and good books.  So all in all, not a bad evening.

- Also while in Seattle I was contacted by the mother of the daughter I have never known.  I didn't even know she existed until just a few years ago (and no paternity test has happened, so it's possible I may not be the father).  She would be a graduating high school senior now, and recently she has begun asking about who her "real father" is.  Who knows where this is going to lead?

- Got back into town and dived back into work, with an insane deadline ahead of me.  Didn't get much done this week due to other interruptions.

- Speaking of interruptions, my mom spent several days in the hospital this week when her blood sugar level shot up to 460 and she started experiencing headaches, nausia, dizziness, shakiness, and lots of other unpleasant symptoms.  The good news is she is back home now, and is doing much better.

- I have a few other stressors going on in my life now, but this is probably enough for now.

Oh, breaking news:

Pat Cashman is coming back to radio, starting May 24th.  I just got an email from his brother, telling me that Pat will be doing a weekly radio show Wednesday afternoons for KRKO 1380am in Everett.  Way cool.  The station's website even has streaming audio, so I'll be able to listen in from here.  Yay!
