I have just finally finished reading this special issue from Doctor Who Magazine:

It was an incredible read, much more than just your average magazine.  DWM has been running for several decades now (the current issue on the stands is #365), and for this special edition what they did was go back through their entire history of interviews with actors, producers, writers, and directors to create a narrative of the first seven years of the show almost entirely in the words of the people who were there.  From the very earliest conceptual meetings, up through the true end of an era when the entire lead cast, plus much of the crew, left the show.  The photographs are extensive and amazing, particularly the full color pictures taken from The Aztecs and Marco Polo.  If you are a Doctor Who geek at all, I must highly recommend picking this special issue up.  I expect you can find it at many comic shops, that's where I found my copy.

And of course, be on the look out for this three disc set coming to the US on March 28:

The first three serials, or the first thirteen individual episodes, all lovingly restored by the amazing Doctor Who Restoration Team, including the very first appearance of the Daleks.  This is solid gold, folks.

Speaking of Daleks, the word is that Genesis of the Daleks is one of the titles the restoration team is working on for release in '06.  Yay!  The first (and best) appearance of Davros!
