He did not change his journal on account of my opinion. I could have broken down in tears and thrown myself down on the floor kicking and screaming and he would not change his journal. I could withhold the nookie and he would not change his journal. I could go three or four days giving him the silent treatment and he would not change his journal. And I love him for that, I can't get away with nothin'.
I think my influence over him is way subtler than that. As in, I have a good effect on him, but he'd never do something just because I want him to.
I'm more concerned that he took my opinion of, "eh, your journal sucks", thought, "that's just what you think, whatever." Got it confirmed by a few more people before thinking, "my journal must suck" He never listens to me! I'm just trying to protect him from other people's harsh words by browbeating him with mine first. It's all from love, baby.
