The theme of today's mandatory three hour staff meeing is "Moving from Good to Great".  Thus far we are twenty minutes past the meeting start time.  The Live Meeting conference is not working, and is telling everyone the meeting is full.  To compensate for that, the CEO has had to email a copy of the powerpoint presentation to the entire company.  Now the dial in phone line is also full.  The New York office has thus far not been able to join at all.  I am burning cell minutes just sitting here listening to the inane chatter of people from all around the country.

Boy am I motivated.

Are you having fun yet?
BTW: 'Good to Great' is an excellent book. It is actually a couple of years old and is the management flavor of the day the CEO picked up in his leadership classes he takes on weekends.
Can't say I miss it.
Instead, I get the opportunity to interview for a Directorship at a cool mobile phone company. They are looking for a leader to improve their ringer, game, extras, download business.
Wish me luck....and back at ya!
Hang in there....

At least you are at home and can masturbate in reality instead of the corporate jacking-off that is taking place at the offices.

They closed down the cofee cart promptly at 9 because it was making too much noise. When I was the next in line, and in fact was in the middle of ordering my coffee. So I was denied the comfort even of a little caffiene whilst I listened to the inane banter of a group of people failing to plan ahead when holding a company-wide meeting (a meeting of dubious value in the first place.)

During the small-team breakout session, my team spent an hour and a half and ended up with a final result that was the three sentences on the "hedgehog" slide slightly reworded and smushed together. I'm so glad my life energy went into such a productive process!
