As it turns out, 4 gig nanos really do exist.  The trick is to arrive at an Apple store on the day of their grand opening in the first few hours before they have had a chance to sell out.  Here, then, are photos of our beautiful new iPod Nano (black, 4 gig model), with a fresh skin applied:

I can't think of any good reason to bring it. Aside from the being stuck on a plane for seven hours twice in one week thing. And sitting at work all week with nothing to listen to if I don't bring it.

So yeah, I'm bringing it. ;-)
