I have one thing from my dad, a gold Seiko watch that I have worn for over a decade now.  It means the world to me, and I had always planned on passing it along to my son someday.

This morning I went skating on the West Orange Trail.  When I am skating I have to take the watch off in order to wear my wrist guards, which are most definitely not optional equipment.  I strap the watch to the side of the wrist guard, and everyting is cool.  When I am done skating, I take the watch off and set it down next to me while I finish taking off all of the safety gear and such.  This morning I arrived home at 10am and realized I had left the watch sitting there on the bench back at the trail.  I immediately went back, but it is over a half hour drive to get there.  By the time I got back to the bench it hand been well over an hour, and the watch was gone.  I left notes on the cars that were parked in the area, and I called the parks department to see if maybe one of the grounds crews had picked it up.  Those crews are still out working, and won't be checking in with the main office until lunchtime.  I suppose there is still some small hope that the watch will be found, but at the moment it seems like a very faint hope indeed.  Words can't describe just how I am feeling right now.  Idiot!!
