My mom moves into her new apartment on Monday. In order to be sure she has a lifeline to the world, I have thrown together a functioning computer from whatever spare parts I had lying around the house. For the most part it's good, if a wee bit ancient. It will let her instant message, check her email, surf the web, and play Civilization II, so that pretty much makes her happy. The only complaint is that it is woefully short on memory, on 64 megs. If anyone happens to have any old PC100 DIMMs lying around gathering dust and wanted to send them my way, I would be appreciative.
