Things are starting to move quickly now. Kris' condo closes on Monday, and she is going to be sending her two cats here that night so she doesn't have to worry about them for the couple of weeks that she will still be in Seattle. I went out this evening to get supplies for the cats so I can have things ready for them. Poor things are bound to be traumatized from the flight, so when I pick them up Tuesday morning I want to be able to bring them right home and give them a nice, quiet, safe place to adjust in. I'm sure they'll be fine, but I expect they'll be hiding out for quite a while once they get here.
I also nailed down my unloading help for when the truck arrives. I'll have two professional movers helping to unload, and it should go pretty quickly. I also got a truck and a storage unit reserved, so my mom's stuff will go straight into storage until she arrives in October. The place is practically across the street from where her apartment will be, so that's pretty handy.
The nice thing is we'll be unloading the truck on July 7th, which means I'll have about two weeks to get the place ready for Kris. There are several bookcases I will need to put together, and I should be able to unpack some of her things. The rest I should be able to have put away where she can unpack them at her leisure. I really want her to be able to come home from her flight and not be overwhelmed with boxes everywhere. There will be enough time for unpacking later, I just want to give her a nice welcome where she can just relax and decompress from the move. Lord knows she has had plenty to deal with the past few months.
Just one more crazy month, and then we can start the rest of our crazy life together. I am sure there will be zombies involved somewhere.
