Good News # 1:
My mom's doctor has submitted a request for a home monitoring device that will allow my mom to test her own PT level just like a diabetic tests their blood sugar. The device costs $1400, but given that she is currently having blood draws to test her PT level 1-2 times per week at $50 per test the device will pay for itself within three months. She will be able to monitor her level much more closely, and adjust the dosage of her medicine accordingly. This will be an excellent tool, and should help her to be much more stable in her daily life.
Good News #2:
John got a job, working at AT&T for $18 per hour. It's a contract job, but the bottom line is he will be bringing in cash which will obviously reduce the stress levels in their home dramatically.
Good News #3:
retcon started his new job today at Microsoft, and also has a very solid shot at getting hired where I work. See item #2 regarding stress levels.
Good News #4:
The product I have been working on for the past year had its final release build about two hours ago. The QA team will be doing a final pass on testing for the next 24 hours, and then it will go out live. The launch party is Monday afternoon. Woo Hoo!
Good News #5:
Ben has been consistenlty using the potty on his own with no prompting for the last several days. We are just about ready to switch to normal underwear with a rubber liner during the day. After almost nine years, we may actually be done with diapers. WOO HOO!
Good News #6:
I happened to drive by my new apartment this afternoon on the way to Ben's school, and they are currently repainting the building. That means I will be moving in right after the major commotion is over, and the outside of the building will look top notch. Very nice.
I am sure if I put my mind to it I could find even more good news today. The bottom line is that life is good. No, scratch that, life is grand.
