A quick follow-up to my last post: I mentioned the "shh" thing to Sara tonight when I dropped Ben off, and aparently he has tried to stick his tounge in his aunt 'Nessa's mouth as well. Maybe I need to take a closer look at those Disney videos he's been watching...
All in all it was longer weekend than usual. Ben was a bit more difficult than usual, running off in stores, throwing fits, that kind of thing. I was tired and cranky, and at one point snapped in the car. He was making his whiny uulating sound that he does when he is not getting what he wants, the sound that he knows is the one that grates on my nerves more than any other sound in the universe. I totally snapped and screamed "SHUT UP SHUT UP SHUT UP!!!!" at the top of my voice in the car. On the good side, he stopped making the sound. On the bad side his eyes got really big and teary and he started to sob. I am never really sure if he is being a normal kid and trying to manipulate me, or if he really just doesn't understand. Hopefully someday he will be able to tell me. In any case, I felt like a total jerk for losing my temper.
Spent mother's day at my sister's place, having a bbq with mom & John. My sister's kids played outside in the yard like typical kids on a sunny day. Ben mostly stayed in the living room and watched the same 30 seconds of a disney sing along video over and over again. Then he asked for fries.
I also got a new chair today for my computer. The old one was cheap to start out with, and was completely thrashed. It was undoubtedly a contrbutor to ongoing back problems. This time around I got a much higher quality chair with good lower back support, and it is *much* more comfortable. Excellent investment.
That's about it for today. Must be time for bed.

You are a great dad - devoted, loving, and (mostly) patient. Any child would be lucky to have you in their life.
