One of the things on my checklist to do was open up a new bank account somewhere that has branches both here and in Florida. I intend to keep my credit union as my primary bank, with my direct deposit continuing to go there and the bulk of my bill paying coming from there, but I figured I would also need a local bank that I could walk into for cashing the occasional small check and such. I called my credit union to ask a few questions related to my move, and found out that they are part of a nationwide network of credit unions that share services. As it turns out there are at least a dozen credit unions within a few miles of my new house where I can walk into them and treat them just like they were a local branch of my own credit union. Yay!
