So it's a beautiful day out today. Ben walked wth me down to the laundry room to put in a few loads, and then wanted to go to the playground to swing. Sounded like fun, so off we went. What I discovered when we got there was that the pool was actually open, and people were swimming. Ben was thrilled. He dashed into the pool area before I could stop him, took off all of his clothes, and jumped right in. That kid of mine is surely not cursed with any particular sense of modesty....
The other folks at the pool, including the other kids, were actually pretty nice about the whole thing. I fished him out, we went back home and got a towel and some shorts, and went back to the pool. He proceeded to merrily swim for almost two hours. Happiest kid on the planet.
In other news, mom is home. In addition to separating her tendon, she also fractured one bone in her foot. At the moment she has a long pin running the length of her toe to keep it imobile, and then her foot is in an elaborate brace. It's not quite a walking cast, but it's pretty much the same idea. She'll have to have it on for 6-8 weeks. She is generally feeling ok now, just taking over the counter pain relievers. I guess this will put an end to her professional dance career, and she'll probably never kick another field goal again.
