This is the email I got from the VP of Technology this morning (slightly edited so as to protect the names of people whom I have no right to be naming in public):

<Project Manager> and Ron,
I am enormously pleased with your efforts to upgrade and integrate <the event management system> with <the new software platform>. The demonstration you performed yesterday afternoon for <business owner> and her team personified my goal for Virtuoso Technology. You listened, questioned, planned, advised, and executed – all within a very short delivery window.

I only wish you could have seen the joy and satisfaction on the faces of the Meetings & Events team as you walked them through enhanced feature after enhanced feature. They were spellbound and speechless, which of course doesn’t come across a conference call very clearly!

Thank you again for your dedication and hard work. Please pause for a moment and honor your accomplishments. I’m very proud to have on Virtuoso’s Team Tech.

Well done!

<Executive Vice President Global Technology>

Yesterday afternoon was solid meetings for hours on end, but that particular meeting was very gratifying. It was the first time that the business owner had seen anything from the new tool, the first time that the end user has gotten a taste of what I have been working on for the past several months. Our team has worked very hard to make the tool as easy to use as possible, and to integrate new features to make the business owner's life easier. Had I not gone to Travel Mart last year and seen first-hand how a Virtuoso event is actually executed, many of these new features would never have happened because they never would have occurred to me. It gives me a great deal of satisfaction to see our work received so well.

It's been a good couple of days.
