We got our tax return last week, and it was pretty decent. Paid of some debts. Yay. Then Kris kicked in $100 for new skates, so I could afford to get them before the Disney Inline Marathon. My new skates, which should arrive in a couple of days: K2 Radical 100's. I'll be jumping up to 100mm wheels, and a much more comfortable boot. These are totally sweet skates.
Then yesterday we took a zero interest financing deal to get a new HDTV which we will be picking up today. Our new tv: 40" Sony Bravia XBR LCD Flat Panel. It's a full 1080p set with 3 HDMI inputs, 3 Composite Video inputs, 1 PC input, plus some miscellaneous cmponent and S-Video inputs. I was looking in the 42"-50" range, but this model came so highly reviewed that I gladly took a slightly smaller screen in exchange for a plethora of inputs and exceptional picture quality. Given that we are jumping up from a 27" tube tv the leap in size is going to be huge anyway, and pretty much perfect for the room it is going in. We will have a new HD receiver and DVR from DirecTV in a few weeks.
With the PC input that means that we can finally watch Torchwood. And series 3 of Doctor Who when they start airing. And play the Japanese bus stop farting game in glorious high definition. My personal best is a little over 40,000. Yeah, I'm twelve.
Other cool things my wife has done lately: come up with excellent suggestions on tweaks to the office layout, come up with solid suggestions on how to run surround sound wires, sketch out a new entertainment center to build for Ben's room, add amazingly comfortable sheets (1200 thread count!) and an new comfortor to the bed, and pretty much just generally being an all-around nifty person. I really, really love her. I'd still love her as much without the cool skates and mondo cool tv. But she is still TOTALLY TEH ROXORS!!!!11!!!11!
