I didn't realize how worried people might be today until I got a phone call from my oldest friend, asking if we were ok and if we were anywhere near the tornadoes. For the record: the tornadoes hit north of us, cutting a line maybe twenty or thirty miles away. When last I heard, there were at least 19 fatalities from the storm, and there are quite a few homes that have been completely destroyed. The good news is that the response from the emergency crews has been rapid and top-notch, or so I gather. Me, I slept through the whole thing last night. I vaguely remember hearing the rain, but that's about it. I guess Kris was wide awake and scared for most of it. She expected to look outside and see a lot of debris and possibly some damage, but in fact everything in our neighborhood held up just fine.
So anyway, we are fine, the house is fine, Ben is fine, mom is fine. No need to worry about us.
