So, you know that long list of "ifs" I gave yesteday?  Although Ben's temperature was 97.5 when I left the hospital on Friday evening, three hours later it spiked again to 101.3.  He was asleep a little earlier than he has been, and at least as of a few hours ago he had stayed below fever levels thus far today, but I don't know if that has held into the night.  If he spikes another fever, then all of the current antibiotics will stop, an new "super antibiotic" will be started, and I presume the ten day clock begins again on the PICC line.  In addition to that, Ben continued to be in pain today over the course of the day, and this evening he had another red runny bowel movement.  The red is definitely not blood, but we don't know what it is.  He hasn't eaten any solid foods that would be producing that color.  It seems there is still something abdominal going on, and we may have to do that biopsy after all.
