On the downside, it took me two and a half hours this morning to triage my bugs instead of the one hour I had planned on.

On the upside, I did in fact reach my goal of dropping my bug count for the current release from 33 down to 17.

All things considered, I think cutting a huge bug list in half before lunchtime is a pretty satisfying thing.
Previous total: 904

1/5/05: 6

Running total of the number of time Ben has ridden Snow White's Scary Adventures, as of 1/5/05:

910

...only 90 rides to SW1K

The good:
As noted earlier today, I was successful in cutting my bug list in half.  Beyond that, I figured out a particular detail bit on the main project I am working on, and should have a decent checkin waiting for QA when they arrive tomorrow.

Also, I got to spend a few hours this afternoon with Benjamin at the Magic Kingdom.  He was deleriously happy to start back at school today, was happier when the bus monitor had his missing CD case, was even happier when his teacher had his favorite yellow squishy pillow.  Given all that joy, you should have seen his face when we arrived at the park and it was virtually empty compared to the chaos of the Christmas season.  To say the least, there was a skip in his step this afternoon.

The bad:
I got home from the Magic Kingdom to find a message from my mom, saying she felt "funny" and that I should probably do a blood draw.  I went over, and she was definitely loopy.  She was acting like she was three sheets to the wind, slurring her speech and having trouble stringing two thoughts together.  I did the blood draw, and she came up at 3.8.  That's up 1.4 in two days.  When the blood goes from being that thick to thinning out that quickly, little blood clots break loose and wreak havoc in her brain.  Still, she didn't seem in imminent danger.  Generally speaking, 3.8 is actually a good number.  It just seems like it is moving too quickly, and I am afraid it's going to slingshot up too high.  We called her doctor, who told my mom how to adjust her medication tonight.  I will be checking on her tomorrow.  I give it about 50/50 odds that tomorrow will be spent at the hospital.  So I'm a wee bit worried.

Oh, other good stuff, so I don't end on a depressing note:
There was a new episode of Lost tonight.  In the past I have praised the producers for finding good ways to get Kate out of her shirt, which is always a good thing.  Tonight they found a way to get Kate out of her pants, which I have to tell you was a magnificent thing.  Yay, hot chicks swimming in their underpants.

Also, Kris made chili tonight.  I kid you not when I say that she makes excellent chili.  I am a very happy boy on that count.
