The official word is that as long as Ben does not run a fever tonight, he will be released from the hospital tomorrow. His PICC line must remain in through next Tuesday in order to complete a full course of the antibiotic he is on, but after tonight he will not be receiving any IV nutrients. The hope is that once he is back home in familiar and comfortable surroundings, he will start eating normally again. There will be a home health nurse present during the overnights until his PICC line comes out, responsible for ensuring he does not pull it out. With any luck, he should start back at school a week from tomorrow.
