The results are in from this morning's blood draw, and Ben's pancreatic enzymes came down dramatically. On the amalase (sp?) he dropped from 359 yesterday to 178 today. That's a huge, and very positive, drop. He's still high, but not like he was. The doctor was in earlier to say it could be that the pancreatitis is finally resolving itself but we need to see if the trend continues. In the meantime, the doctor has decided to hold off on putting in a new PICC line since the IV we placed earlier today will be sufficient for now. The ERCP team is doing their consult this afternoon, and we should hear more either late afternoon or early evening. The drop in numbers is good, but the problem still needs to be resolved. Hopefully the good news will continue today, because we really need it.
