January 21st:  I take advantage of a very low interest rate offer, and transfer three balances to a new credit card.  Two of the transfers, which are from other credit cards, go flawlessly.  The third, which is for a personal loan, never processes.

January 31st:  Call credit card to tell them the balance transfer has still not been processed by the receiving bank.  Get told that it hasn't been long enough, to please wait another week.

February 7th:  Call credit card again, balance transfer has still not been processed.  Am told that I should probably wait one more week, since it would be a real shame if they cancelled the check and then the receiving bank tried to cash it the next day.

February 14th:  Call credit card again, balance transfer has *still* not been processed.  Credit card agrees that it has been more than long enough.  Am told that the first check will be cancelled, and a second check will be sent.

February 24th:  Discover that although the credit card charged for the second attempt at the balance transfer, they never credited back the original charge that was never received.  I have now been effectively charged $3000 for a $1500 balance transfer.  Call credit card, spend thirty minutes on the phone with customer no-service, credit card finally agrees that yes, they have charged me twice for the same transfer.  Am initially told that it will take 60 days to research and then reverse the charge.  I somehow manage to not use any profanity while expressing my extreme displeasure with taking it in the shorts for fifteen hundred dollars for two months over an error that is on the bank's side.  Am then told that it will be handled in ten days.  The fuck?  I absolutely do not understand why the amount cannot be credited back to my account *right* *this* *minute*.  They can verify that the first check was never cashed.  They can verify that the first check has been cancelled, and is therefore now uncashable.  This should not even be up for discussion.  But ten days is what I get.

Jesus fucking christ on a goddamned crutch.
