Success
Despite whatever malevolent forces may have been working against me today, I had a pretty successful day at work.  I started off the day by figuring out why my client-side callbacks were not working, then moved on to wiring up the links from Campaigns to Offers.  There was a minor hiccup with that, which required a little bit of a hack, but I'll be able to turn it into a non-hack in the next iteration.  I followed that up with wiring up the links from Offers back to Campaigns, and the got the display of offers working on the product detail page.  All in all a pretty full day at work.

Depressing
Of course, within minutes of making my last checkin for the day I got a phone call from Sara.  She calls me with emergencies on a regular enough basis that it well and truly pisses Kris off.  Usually it's something like Sara not being able to make it home in time to get Ben off the bus and can I do it?  (Which is generally followed by the hours of my sitting around her apartment waiting for her to come home, usually at least two hours later than she said she would.)  Tonight, though, I have to admit that she had a genuine emergency.  She recently got two cats, and when she got home tonight one of them was lying on the floor convulsing and foaming at the mouth.  The cat clearly needed to get to the vet right away, and Ben would be very difficult to keep under control at the vet's office.  I went over right away and took Ben out for a few hours.  He was upset when I took him back home to Sara's place instead of mine, but once I got him to put on his pajamas and play a game with me he calmed down.  Sara eventually got back home a little after 8.  The poor cat is still at the vet's office, and they still don't know what exactly is wrong.  His kidneys had shut down, so they had him on an IV.  They had done x-rays and blood draws, and it pretty much seemed like the cat had eaten some kind of poison.  While Sara does not exactly keep a neat house, she certainly does not have anything dangerous out simply because Ben might get into it.  From what I saw of the cat when I arrived, I suspect that he will either pass away tonight or else will need to be put to sleep tomorrow morning.  I just can't see the cat bouncing back from this one.  The really sad thing is that of the two cats Sara got, this is the one that was patient with Ben and which Ben liked.  The other cat pretty much just hides all the time.

Failure
So I eventually got back home, and had one minor tweak to check in (an image that had not been ready earlier in the day).  I went to verify the pages, and now that entire section blows up with a database error.  If it doesn't miraculously fix itself overnight then I will be left with nothing to do tomorrow until people in Seattle arrive and can look at the problem.  The relevant code hasn't changed, so either a stored procedure changed or a database structure changed.  I can't do anything about either of those.  So tomorrow should pretty much suck.
