A co-worker was fired today. He was the guy who got me the job in the first place, a guy I had worked with at my previous job with PSW/Concero, and a guy who also worked at the same place I did before that (Keane). I chatted with him briefly, and I am sure I will again tomorrow.
This does not do wonders for my morale.
Oh, and my website was hacked today. They exploited a security flaw in the journal component of php-nuke, created an admin account, and then played around. As near as I can tell they didn't do anything too nasty, and I think I have it cleaned up and the security hole plugged. I think.
This does not do wonders for my morale.
But tomorrow evening.... tomorrow evening Kris and I are getting in the car and driving. We are probably going south to Key Largo. Or we might possibly go north to St. Augustine. Honestly, I don't really care where we go just as long as we go.
Now *that* does wonders for my morale.

We're all but going on strike. We'll be on IM tomorrow, but nothing is going to get done. Triage, since A. doesn't own it anymore, and there's no maintenance team anymore is going to return to being the black hole where bugs go to die unless we (Amelia, Daniel and i) get some answers and satisfactory ones at that. Morale could be lower, but not without actively attempting to piss off the remaining employees.
Go. Get out of the 'office' early. Leave as soon as Kris can manage.

Does anyone know what happened? Is there anything we need to do or not do (like disagree with Eli during a meeting, which Al did last week) to avoid following him?
Al hired me here, too.

I figure i'm not going to be allowed to say anything around work anymore.
