Back on March 8th Ben got very sick at school, throwing up several times before I could come pick him up.  The next day I left for Boston, and the following week was spring break for Ben.  He was sick as a dog for nine days, and didn't eat anything for the first five days.  By the time school started again on the 13th he was feeling better but still pretty wiped out from the experience.  It was the sickest he had ever been in his life.

On April 5th he got sick at school again, the same kind of vomiting all over again.  This time it lasted for four days.

This morning on his field trip to Sea World he got sick yet again, and spent the entire day seeming very tired.  This evening the threw up what little dinner he had eaten.  Something is very, very wrong.  Tomorrow I am keeping him home from school, and I will be calling the doctor first thing in the morning to get him in.  Ben has never, ever been sick like this before and we really need to figure out what is going on.

Meanwhile, of course, there was my mom's whole trip to the hospital last week because of her daibetes.  She is doing much better now, although her blood sugar level is still running high.  She was supposed to have a follow-up doctor's appointment tomorrow, but we are cancelling that so I can take care of Ben.

Oh, and did I mention that I am in the middle of a time-critical project at work right now, too?  Right at the moment where I should be going above and beyond to deliver for the team, instead I am being pulled away to deal with family health issues.  I feel like I am a drag on the team right now, and that is not a happy feeling.  Grr.

On the upside, I've had Hockey Monkey by The Zambonis stuck in my head all day.

"...7..8..9.. havin a good time yeaaaaaaaaa..."
